Motor inrush and stall conditions
A 25A pulse rating gives the pack headroom for the instant a motor starts or binds. Power-tool packs are built around exactly this kind of short, brutal current draw rather than a steady load.
Where it does not fit
The pulse figure is not a continuous rating. 12.5A is the sustained limit; anything above that is a burst, and the BMS should treat it that way.
Impact drivers and high-torque tools
Tools that stall under load punish a cell with repeated current spikes. The extra pulse headroom here means less voltage sag and less heat per event.
Where it does not fit
Cycle life is the shortest in the 18650 line at 300–500 cycles. High-peak duty costs longevity — that is the trade this cell makes on purpose.
Compact high-rate packs
Two of these in parallel comfortably feed a load that would otherwise need a larger format, keeping the pack small enough to stay handheld.
Where it does not fit
