Tools and appliances that run daily
The 3C continuous rating puts steady current within reach while the 300–600 cycle window keeps the pack in service longer between rebuilds. That combination is why high-drain 18650s dominate cordless tool packs.
Where it does not fit
Not an energy cell. A 25D pack holds noticeably less charge than the 42D for the same number of cells — if run time matters more than cycle count, take the 42D.
High-current pulses on a budget
A 5C pulse rating covers motor inrush and other brief spikes without forcing you onto a more expensive cell.
Where it does not fit
Pulse ratings assume a short burst with recovery time. Do not treat 12.5A as a sustained figure — heat builds faster than the casing can shed it.
Packs built to a fixed cell count
At no more than 47g and a standard 18650 footprint it drops into existing pack hardware without a redesign, so a rebuild can reuse the same holders, strips, and enclosure.
Where it does not fit
191 Wh/kg is the lowest density in the range. Do not choose this where weight is the constraint — that is what the 35E is for.
